Another fantasy drawing, just in time for the Motor City Comic Con. This was not the most time-consuming, but it was the most difficult drawing I have done. The candlelight was very difficult to recreate, I had to be very careful not to get red flecks on my white areas, and the black pencil had to be done a certain way to avoid glare from lighting. I am very happy with it though...
Colored Pencil on smooth bristol. Approx. 19" x 24"
Thank You. I checked out your gallery - very cool stuff - I went to school for commercial art - I think schools have changed the name to graphic design since I went....
Thanks. Glad you like my work. You've got some awesome stuff yourself! I love all the drawings! Yep, they changed it to graphic design. Pretty much the same thing, just more on the computer, which isn't always that good. I miss seeing more things being done traditionally.
Well, I'm almost all traditional (except for my advertising efforts). I like most digital artwork, but there is a gray area I shy away from. But I usually consider graphic design to be a totally different category. People are asking me more and more "is that ALL colored pencil" and last time someone asked me that, someone else said "what else would it be?" - I guess some people think I edit them on the computer and then print them out...and that would be a NO - they are 100% drawn by hand. Anyway, I like your controversial ads - its great to see two vastly different viewpoints both represented so well...
