A portrait of my niece-in-law, Grace. She was playing around the house, and it looked like she had something in her hand, so I thought maybe she was blowing bubbles, which she likes to do. So I added the bubble. She has such an innocent and graceful quality to her, and the photo was just so cool with the light streaming in, that I had to draw it. It was a challenge to draw a little girl in such contrast, and keep her soft, warm, and innocent looking.
Prismacolor on smooth bristol. 16" x 13". Revised photo and artwork 5/12 Photo reference by Elena

Don't forget who's taking you home, and in whose arms you're gonna be,
So darling, save the last dance for me. ♫
